Turning on Auto Apply and setting your job preferences

Last updated

To turn on Auto Apply, subscribe to Power, set the filters, match quality and daily cap for the roles you want, then switch it on. From then on, Tsenta picks roles that pass your settings and submits them for you at your run times, without asking you about each one.

Auto Apply is separate from the standard flow, where you choose every role yourself. If you would rather approve each application, leave it off and apply from your match feed.

Before you start

  • Power plan. Auto Apply needs an active Power subscription. Auto Apply is rolling out gradually, so if you don't see it on Power, email founders@tsenta.com.
  • A complete résumé profile. If a résumé profile is missing required fields, Auto Apply pauses and tells you what to fill in.
  • An application password, for Workday roles. Auto Apply skips Workday roles until you set one under Settings, Application password.

Turn on Auto Apply

  1. Open Auto Apply in the web dashboard, or the Auto tab in the iPhone or Android app where it is available. On the newer web dashboard, ask the Tsenta assistant to set up Auto Apply.
  2. Choose the résumé profile to apply with.
  3. Set your filters: keywords to include or exclude, role types, locations and remote work, job type, companies to include or skip, experience level, how recently the role was posted, and whether you need visa sponsorship.
  4. Pick a minimum match quality: Excellent, Strong, Good or Stretch.
  5. Set a daily cap and, if you like, your run times.
  6. Switch Auto Apply on.

Résumés and review

Auto Apply uses its own résumé settings and skips manual résumé review. Each search has an option to review its applications before submitting, if you want to check them first.

Tsenta also keeps your résumé consistent at each company. Once you have applied to a company, later applications there use the résumé from your latest application to that company, for a year.

Turn it off

Switch Auto Apply off at any time. Applications it already submitted stay submitted, and you can keep applying to roles you choose yourself. For a sense of how many applications make sense, see applying to hundreds of jobs without hurting your chances.
